Kenjirou noticed that, while he tried to steer them away from discussing possessions and things like that, Sena seemed to be offended, and with that, she went on her own offense. Kenjirou was surprised to see her speak up so harshly like this, but in the back of his mind, it kind of soothed him.
That little tort made her seem even more like Mother.
Before the situation could take another turn for the worse, Kenjirou stood up and eased his chair out gently, taking Sena's hand in his own and requesting that they go to the balcony nearby, where they could enjoy the fresh air, among other things- And even discuss their etiquette.
" Come Sena, I want to show you the balcony. It's a great view of Demon city from up there, you wouldn't want to miss it. "
Pulling her dainty figure with him, although not in a mean or forceful manner, Kenjirou made swift work of the distance between them and the door, doing his best to get away from Father and Mother, standing on the ebon stone balcony, where you could see the ominously colored sky making up the background behind the city of black, grey, and other mundane colors.
" I'm sorry if what my Father said upsets you. He always wanted someone to carry on his legacy, which to him means doing things the Demon way. He is afraid of change. Like me, he likes consistency- Knowing things will stay the same, no drastic adjustments to his way of life. Forgive him, or me, if he seems rude. He just feels like you're the one whose taking me, and his lifestyle away from him. It's not that he hates you, or doesn't like you. He is just afraid to lose what he knows, so he gets angry- Because that's all he's ever done when scared, is to get angry and forcefully make things go his way. I hope you can understand.. "
Holding Sena's hand tightly towards the end, he wondered about his Mother and Father in the dining room, what they would be discussing.
" Well, well, well...apparently our Son is quite the smooth talker, not to mention he is brilliant, as always. I'll have to try harder to be nice for him. He really has matured a lot faster than his Brother.. "
" That's because he was able to look up to his Brother, and learn from his mistakes. Kenjirou never wanted Ichirou to die, he just didn't want to die himself. He wasn't ready for that kind of life because of me, I already told you that I wouldn't let you raise him to be some blood-lusting killer. He's much more suitable this way to be a true leader, not a dictator. "
The King scoffed, personally feeling that a dictator was a leader, one who knew that the only way to drive a country or world into the same direction was to take hold of the reigns and force the decision you make onto your subjects.
As the Mother and Father waited patiently while eating for the couple to return, they smiled at each-other, still happy that their son had found someone- And also that he was ready to take on the responsibilities of being the heir to the Alaric throne.
