Spirit Detective Association - Work In Progress

SDA's Current Status

With the fall of the previous spirit king's reign twenty years ago, Hashimoto and his "unique" connections, many of his amoral transgressions experienced a whirlwind of backfired in their reputations. One of which included the Spirit Detective Association... A lot of blood was spilled because of them. Their hands were drenched with filth they were deluded to believe were acts of justice and solving a spiritual crime.

As a result, as he fell, their ties to the spirit world were severed. For a number of years, many lived their normal lives. It wasn't until Shittoryu Mien realized he was unfit to be normal, did the SDA's publicity find itself in restoration after a two decade hiatus.

Only a few available Spirits and members of the Seishinryoku (Spirit Force) currently still trust and work with the SDA. Since information is scarcer than ever, lengthy investigations, self-reliance and taking deadly risks have become more apparent and necessary than ever.

Although demons can be part of the SDA, many groups advise not to have them included because of the fact that their goal is to create balance for the human world's ignorance and staying unaware of what's beyond.

Non-Playable Associates

((Men In Black inspired: I was thinking there could be an NPC character with the specialty that's entirely non-combative, and uses it to detect from far distances and can clean the memories of those who were in contact with spirits or demons. Her twin sister could actually change the news reports at a worldwide scale. This will require administrative permission of course. It might not even happen.))

Role-Playable Associates

Membership in the SDA is different from other factions. It's an association. This means that it can be broken into groups, and some groups might not even know the existence of another group. Some might even work solo. To become a member however, you'll need to be introduced by a member at this point in time, either in IC or explained in character creation.

Administration

Due to the fact that SDA carries no ties to the Spirit King, it developed the need to have its own administration. Currently, the Chief-Administrator is Shittoryu Mien. Even though Mien brought it back to life, he's no where near their leader. But to create a group, one must go through him so he can register you. But if your group goes to too far and seek total domination, his group, Guardian Angel, will do its best to stop you themselves.

Anything can be negotiated and argued over. It is traditional however, to settle differences (within your own group) with a coin toss (random.org). However, not all groups have to agree a different group. One group may have agreed to carry out the agenda to kill any and all demons in their path, while one group may have an agenda to do their best to return the demon to the demon world alive. There is no ethical answer for the SDA due to the fact that they not all groups will work together.
