NAME: Kitajima
ALIAS: 頭蓋骨のレディ (Zugaikotsu no Redi) Translation- Lady of Skulls
AGE: 404
GENDER: Female
RACE: Demon
APPEARANCE:
~Height: 162.5cm (Little over 5'3")
~Weight: 50.8kg (roughly 112lbs)
When it comes to body mass and size, some may not consider Kitajima a very intimidating demon. Her height to weight ratio put's her on the small size, add in her narrow body structure and she appears rather close to being a petite human girl in her teen years. The only problem with that is her other features. Most seem to first notice her horns. They resemble portions of a spine cord, sprouting from just behind her temples and curving up and almost inward, the tips sharp and lethal, black in color and made much denser than a humans bones would be, bringing up the question if her entire skeleton was the same dark color.
The next of her more notable features, would be Kitajima's eyes. Instead of a black pupil, her pupil is a pale shade of yellow, fading into the eerie, almost glowing green of the iris, which his far larger than that of a humans, the sclera, or whites of the eyes, being barely visible. Being able to see clearly in the dark has it's downfall, as her eyes are extremely sensitive to light and leave her nearly blind in the daytime. Which also explains her rather pale white skin.
Kitajima's claws are something she is actually rather proud of. Aside from her horns, she takes very good care of them. Though they aren't always around, as they are retractable, they also happen to be one of her favorite weapons.
Finally, are her wings, if one could call them that. These thin structures are directly attached to her spinal cord. Though they are not traditional wings, like a bird of bat possesses, they still enable her to hover and fly, though usually only a few yards off the ground. She's found she's not really built to go sky high.

HISTORY:
Kitajima's birth came four centuries ago, around the same time the East India Trading company came to Japan. Of course, the human world was completely unknown to her, and he twin brother, Kitojima, born only a few minutes before Kitajima herself. Twins were a rarity within her particular species. The young are harder for the parents to protect, considering their isolation and being nocturnal. At birth, Kitajima and her brother were both completely blind, and would be for their first century of life. Those are the most critical years for them, learning to trust on all their senses, aside from sight. Sense of smell, hearing, and touch develop beyond the norm far faster than most, along with being able to feel the essence and aura of other demons.
The time when Kitajima and Kitojima would reach maturity and gain their sight wasn't a happy time, as it should have been and it wasn't a period of her life Kitajima like to think about. It was the time she learned that humans could be just as cruel as the most ruthless demons. The trip was supposed to be simple, an exercise, taking the twins from the shelter of their home to expose them further to the world. What no one expected was to expose them to humans. Not knowing what they were, left the twins vulnerable and easy to capture.
The details were blurry, but it wasn't the demons themselves the humans wanted. Like poachers after an elephant's tusks in search of healing powers, they wanted the twin's horns. Of course, their bone was far denser than expected, so the humans tried various different methods, all painful, to try to remove them from Kitojima's skull. All the while, Kitajima was forced to listen to the brother's painful screams, with no way to block them out. The stress and stain forced upon her triggered a spike of Yoki through her body and the first thing she ever saw was her brother's face twisted in pain as the human finally sliced him, removing his head completely and then his precious horns.
What happened after was more of a blur.
Kitajima remembered the hate and the anger as she broke free. But how she got back to her home after removing the head of every human involved was a blank. All she could do was curled up, clutching her brother's head and hide away. Her parents never returned was one thing she noticed after time passed the other was that her brother's head wasn't the only one she brought back.
She'd kept the heads of her victims.
Kitajima became used to the smell of rot as the flesh and muscles melted from the skulls, including her brothers. But, she'd gone into denial. She spoke to the head, cradled it, cared for it, cried with ever hair and lump of flesh that fell away, destroying more the one of the other skulls in fits of rage till she was left with her brother's blackened skull and few, intact, white ones from the human's she slain in revenge.
She isolated herself, with only the skulls for company, only leaving her home when her instincts and needs over powered her desire to stay where she was. Whenever she was confronted by some lowlife looking for a fight, she took their head as a prize, removing the fleshy remains herself before returning to create her own collection. As time went on, she learned how to feed the delusion that her brother was still alive, that her twin, her other half, had not been ripped away from her. She could channel her Yoki into her brother's skull and, in a way, bring it to life.
When she became lonely, she'd do the same with other skulls, earning her interesting little nickname.
It wasn't until recently that she'd taken to leaving her nest, to travel. The skulls were no longer good company, though her brother and a few others came with her. At over four hundred years old, she wanted to see and feel the world she was born into so long ago, and maybe even those beyond the borders.
