Personality. Larris is every bit the cordial and composed dignitary that his noble upbringing might suggest, but there is far more to this gentle man than an extensive vocabulary and disaffected disposition, and he is certainly not what one would expect from a man bearing the title "Demon". He is a artist, a thinker and a scholar; he loves the world, loves the seas and the skies, and takes no greater pleasure than seeing the vastness and diversity of existance layed out for him to see. He is still a demon, and has an ocassionally propensity for selfish thinking and deviousness, but for the most part, he uses these traits to others' benefit as much as his own, and bears no ill will for other creatures unless they inhibit his agendas. Larris has a lot to think about, and already has a general understanding of many of the underlying principles of the world, and so doesn't spend a lot of time or energy analyzing the details of everyday situations and discourse. Where he does apply the full of his attention, he shows incredible perception and deductive skills, and is especially quick to recognize patterns and quantify obstacles to his objectives. Not much can stand in his way, but this is a necessary skill for Larris, who has difficulties when faced with powerlessness or inevitable failure; the same intellect that makes him so profoundly potent also makes him keenly aware when circumstances aren't in his favor, an experience that he, like any living in the demon world, does not prefer. As such, he has a tendency to manipulate circumstances for his own safety: planning escape routes, analyzing hazardous situations, and judging the weaknesses of hostile targets before making any decisions that he cannot take back. Perhaps to better understand or overcome his limitations, Larris has always been a willing and enthusiastic pursuer of knowledge and experience, seeing any opportunity to learn and grow as worth his time. He strives to develop new and useful skills, and between great pursuits picks up bits and pieces of know-how wherever he can find them. With the ever-present threats inherent in living in the demon world, a large percentage of his time and efforts have been focused on strategy and the development of personal strength, but this has done little to change him as a whole; Larris has had a taste for physical activity and competition since he was very young, and the world of martial arts and physicality is just as complex and beautiful a discipline as any he has seen, making this subtle change in his priorities no less appealing or fortuitous than the pursuit of academia, and in fact expands upon his perspective of individual and moral values, having a stong grasp of the physical pleasures and pains of the world that his noble upbringing could not possibly have provided. Beyond endeavor and beyond hardship, Larris is still a man like any other, and has a normal man's sense of morality and justice. He values honesty and accountability, gratitude and passion, and realistic and positive views of the world are likely to bring out the best in his demeanor. Larris himself, while enjoying the great beauty and serenity of the world, understands the principles of survival and the natural law, and can be cynical in his expectations of the behavior of others. He does his best in living to become a pillar of strength that cannot be preyed upon and might protect others who cannot protect themselves, but does not disdain or frown upon violence as a means of protecting one's life, and is quick to turn the law of the jungle on those who seek to prey upon the weak. Larris is decisive and strong-willed in regards to his morals and moral character, and does his best to encourage and praise the similar strengths he sees in others, as they go a long way in reinforcing him against his own cynical nature. To strangers and acquaintances in the human world, Larris is a quiet and gentle man, distant and taken to few words, but always willing to offer a friendly smile or a helping hand. His seniors see him as a charming and intelligent youth, eager to learn and with great respect for the world; his juniors see him as a wise and decisive man, inspiring to the passionate and magnanimous to the weak. He is not flawless; often, comfort and conversation do not come easily to him and on some level, he fears to be alone as he has felt for such a long time in his life, having buried his inadequacies in a myriad of disciplines and techniques. Somewhere inside, he is fragile in ways that even he is not aware of, but for every man and woman to call him an ally, he is reinforced in his belief and in his willpower, and ever strengthened in wherever his life should take him.
